Kenijeko Inc. ("Kenijeko," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through kenijeko.org (the "Site"), how we use and share it, and the choices available to you. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
Information you provide directly. When you contact us, sign up to volunteer, or otherwise reach out through the Site (including by email), we may collect your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message.
Donation information. Donations made through the "Donate" button on this Site are processed entirely by Zeffy, an independent third-party donation platform. Kenijeko does not collect, see, or store your payment card or bank information. Any personal information you provide to Zeffy during a donation (such as your name, email, and billing details) is governed by Zeffy's own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review at zeffy.com.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs limited technical information when you visit the Site, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages you view, for security, troubleshooting, and performance purposes. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies or analytics tracking on this Site.
We use the information we collect to: respond to your inquiries and volunteer interest; communicate with you about Kenijeko's programs, updates, and opportunities to get involved; maintain the security, integrity, and proper functioning of the Site; and comply with applicable legal, accounting, and reporting requirements.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the Site and our organization, including our website hosting provider, email provider, and donation processor (Zeffy) — each of whom is only permitted to use your information to provide services to us. We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Kenijeko, our donors, volunteers, or the public.
This Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. Some of Kenijeko's humanitarian and community programs serve children; any information collected in connection with in-person program participation is handled separately from this Site, under the consent and safeguarding procedures for that program, and is not governed by this Policy.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by applicable law, accounting, or reporting obligations, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized.
We take reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you have provided to us by emailing contact@kenijeko.org. Depending on your state or country of residence, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law; we will respond to verified requests consistent with those rights.
Kenijeko is based in the United States and supports programs in multiple countries, including Liberia. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction.
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including our donation platform, Zeffy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies directly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
